Hello World!
Welcome to my first ever blog Getting to Know Arizona. First of all I would like to tell you some background information on myself and a little bit about my intent with this project.
Who am I?
My name’s Jocelyn Buras and I’m a currently a junior at Arizona State University. I’m studying journalism within the Walter Cronkite School and intend on graduating spring of 2009. I’ve had 5 relatives graduate from ASU so you could say I was born to be a sun devil. Born and raised in Arizona, the majority of my time has been spent in the East Valley. I grew up exploring this state and feel I am very qualified to extend my knowledge to the readers of this blog.
What’s this blog all about?
Getting to Know Arizona will be a guide to everything in and around this great state we live in. Topics will range from covering fairs and festivals to local “must see’ monuments and attractions, hotspot restaurants, and the beauty of natural hikes and trails through the desert. I foresee this project as being a mini travel blog where people can come and experience Arizona, or just find out what’s happening in their backyard. I plan on spanning my coverage across the state, up north to Flagstaff as well as south to Tucson but will mainly focus on the metropolitan Valley. I look forward to show you around this state I call home and am excited for the discoveries and adventures that lie ahead!
